Yamamoto Kojo
This factory was established in Asakusa-ku, Tokyo (now Taito-ku) in 1914 at the request of Lion Dentifrice as a manufacturer of metal bottle caps, cans, and other products. It was also the first factory to produce toothpaste tubes domestically, which at the time relied entirely on imports. According to the factory directory at that time, the number of workers was 12 men and 2 women, and the factory was a medium-sized business using two machines with 7 horsepower. This exhibit is the restoration (operable) of the mold and jig manufacturing division of the factory. With birch wood flooring and the collection of masterpiece American-made machine tools on display, the spectacular interior of the factory indicates that high accurate machining must have been realized in here.
